Oceanic Victor has announced that it no longer holds the lease on the Granite Island Recreation Park and will not re-open the Island Cafe.
The company, which operated the Tuna Pen off the island, says it still holds the aquatic lease in Encounter Bay and tourism licence for the sea aquarium.
It says work still needs to be done to the Screw Pile Jetty before its boat can use the facility to take passengers to the aquarium pen and it has no immediate plans to return it to the area.
The pen was towed to Port Lincoln on April 2021 to undergo maintenance while the new causeway was constructed.
The Department of Environment will provide food and beverage services on the Island for an interim period.
