Oddball comes to Port Elliot

Summer Swell Outdoor Cinema will feature the delightful family film Oddball at Horseshoe Bay on Saturday 25 January.

Oddball is based on the true story of Alan 'Swampy' Marsh, an eccentric chicken farmer from Warrnambool in Victoria who struggled to protect a penguin colony on Middle Island.

Swampy owns an Italian sheepdog, or maremma, named Oddball.

With the help of his granddaughter, he trains his mischievous dog to protect a penguin sanctuary from fox attacks in an attempt to reunite his family and save their seaside town.

This wonderful Australian film stars Shane Jacobson, Coco Jack Gillies, Sarah Snook and Alan Tudyk. It has been classified G for General Exhibition.

The film will be shown at dusk on the Horseshoe Bay lawn area adjacent to the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club. The running time is 95 minutes.

People can gather from 6.30pm; food and drink will be available for purchase on site, provided by the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club. There is no charge to see the film.

Bring your own picnic, cushions, rugs or low chairs. The Port Elliot foreshore is a dry zone 10pm to 6am, seven days a week.
