Most community groups run on the sweat of dedicated volunteers and the smell of an oily rag.
All levels of government offer various types of grants, ranging from a few hundred dollars to many thousands, to help with running programs, updating equipment and building facilities.
But filling in the forms to win those grants can be daunting for many committees, who don’t know where to start.
The City of Onkaparinga will offer free grant writing workshops this month to support organisations located in the council area with preparing their grant or sponsorship applications.
The Fleurieu sessions will be held at McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre, at 796 Main Road, on Thursday 6 February and Wednesday 12 February.
The 6 February evening session will run from 5.30 to 9.30pm and will include a light supper.
The 12 February day session will run from 10am to 2pm and will include a light lunch.
Any dietary requirements should be advised when registration has been confirmed.
Places will be allocated on a first come basis, with a maximum of 15 attendants per workshop.
Book for both 6 February and 12 February via Eventbrite online ticketing.
