Spring is Open Garden season and two very different gardens at opposite ends of the Fleurieu will support two very good causes this week.
A garden at 4 Lipizzaner Drive, Hindmarsh Valley will be open tomorrow Sunday 1 October from 10am to 4pm,
Funds raised will benefit the Fleurieu Cancer Support Foundation, with $5 entry, a raffle and trading table; Eftpos will be available.
The garden features native and cottage beds, a lavender garden, a fairy garden, a windmill and garden art.
The Pitchford Boys will provide live entertainment and there will be face painting. No pets are permitted.
Next Saturday 7 October will see the Serenity garden open at 775 Old Bull Creek Road, Strathalbyn from 10am to 4pm.
Entry costs $10 for adults; children under 12 are free, with funds raised supporting Strathalbyn’s St Andrews Church restoration.
This working alpaca farm has a large and productive hilltop garden with views to the Coorong.
It garden features an interesting collection of plants, garden ornaments and historical artefacts beneath a canopy of eucalyptus and European trees.
Plants sales, music, a raffle and food will be available.
