Panthers on the prowl in Kangaroo Island Football

Wisanger moved up to second spot on the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) ladder after a convincing 172-point win over Parndana at Wisanger yesterday. The Panthers led by 86 points at halftime, before kicking a further 13 unanswered goals in the second half to win 27.22 (184) to 2.0 (12). Wisanger had 10 different goalkickers with Sam Clifford and Khyal Stead kicking six goals each. Eli Kuchel and Will Stanton were the goalkickers for the Roosters. Best players for Wisanger were Luke Shurven, Liam Sampson, Jason Fryar, Clifford and Timmy Turner. The Roosters best included Zach Trethewey, Jesse Gaskin and Eli Kuchel.


Western Districts remained undefeated after a tight, 13-point win against Dudley United at Gosse yesterday. An upset was well and truly on the cards as Dudley United led by 24 points at the last change. Urged on by their home crowd, the Saints kicked 5.8 to 0.1 in the last quarter to win 14.13 (97) to 13.6 (84). Saints skipper was a standout up forward with eight goals, while Ronan Wood and Sam Willson kicked three goals each for the Eagles. Sam Jonas, Joshua Graham, Jhy McCarthy, Dylan Lockett and Hedges were named best for the Saints, while for Dudley United, Korbyn Childs, Kayne Wheaton, Keenan Jacobs, Tait Florance and Sam Willson were named their best players. 


Kingscote had the bye.
