Panthers on the prowl in the Kangaroo Island Football League

Reigning premier Wisanger consolidated their top-two spot on the ladder following a comfortable 49-point victory against Kingscote during round seven action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. The Panthers got out of the blocks quickly to lead by 31 points at quarter time, but it could have been a far greater margin as they kicked an inaccurate 5.9 to 1.2. Wisanger increased their lead to 36 points at halftime and 37 points at the last change, before winning 13.19 (97) to 6.12 (48). Jackson Lockett kicked four goals for Wisanger, while Nathaniel McDonnell kicked two goals for Kingscote. Dusty Cross was named best for Wisanger and he was well supported by Liam Sampson, Brok Viney-Obst, Jai Turner and Luke Shurven. Best for Kingscote included Rory Lovering, Jordan Connell and Lachlan Ingerson.


Western Districts maintained top spot on the ladder after travelling to Parndana and coming away with a 71-point win. The final scores were Western Districts 13.24 (102) to Parndana 4.7 (31). Lloyd Coulson (4), Brad Crabb (3), Riley Boyle (3) and Henry Hammat (2) were the main goalkickers for the Saints, while Zach Trethewey kicked two majors for the Roosters. Jack Favilla, Cam Florance, Crabb, Tate Barrett and Coulson were named best for Western Districts. For Parndana, Ben Gaskin, Brad Daniel, Zach Trethewey, Patrick Skeer and Bailey Mashford were their best players. 


Dudley United had the bye.
