On a warm day Redsox Red were up to bat first and they had safe hits to Mia Andrews, Eagan Hupfield and Will Gregory-Thomson which helped bring home four runs with Strath’s first baser Xander Ide fielding and playing his own base for the out and pitcher Imogen Baker taking a catch and quickly throwing to third baser Lincoln Strange to catch the runner short of their ground for a double play. Strath started their batting dig with some walks and safe hits to Strange, Sam Baker and Byron Strange which helped to bring in the full seven runs with Redsox unable to make any outs.
The second dig for Redsox was better with a safe hit to the outfield by Nathan Golder and more walks gained and with some great base running and a steal home by James Gowland they were also able to bring home the full seven runs with Strath’s pitcher/catcher combo of Anna Scott to I. Baker combining well for a K2 and the only out of the innings. Strathalbyn came in to bat and again gained some walks with the highlight a two base hit to S. Baker and with great base stealing they again brought in the full seven runs with Redsox pitcher/catcher Golder to Sophie Barnes making a K2 and Golder also taking a catch.
The third dig for Redsox gained them some walks and they brought home two runs with Strath’s fielders working hard with L. Strange fielding at second and throwing to B. Strange for the out at first and short stop Nate Bird taking a catch before time and game was called with Strathalbyn coming out on top 14 runs to Redsox 13 for their first win of the season.
