Strathalbyn were first up to bat and started with a single to Kim Cutting who made her way home with great base running for the only run of the innings with Hahndorf’s pitcher/catcher combo of Lucy Weatherstone to Sophie Walton working well together for two K2’s and a great catch at right field by Matilda Lovelock sending them from the diamond. Strath’s pitcher/catcher combo of Tessa Norris to Gab Martin was also working well with two K2’s and an out by third baser Peyton Daniels to first baser Brooke Moses held Hahndorf scoreless with three up three down.

Strath got runners on in the second and a home run to Kathy Pash brought in a total of three runs with Hahndorf making another two K2’s for the innings and an out at first by second baser Breanna Luxon ended the innings. Strath were working hard in the field with Mia Oats-Willis the only batter to get on with a two base hit before another K2, an out at first by short stop Cutting and second baser Ashlee Peterson making the last out at first holding Hahndorf scoreless again.

Hahndorf returned the favour in Strath’s third batting dig, preventing them from adding to the total with two outs at first and another K2. Strath started tight in the field with Daniels taking a catch and combining with Cutting to make an out at third before Hahndorf got a string of hits together and with great base running they brought in five runs with Norris regrouping and finishing the innings with a K2.

Strath got back to batting in the fourth and had multiple safe hits and well picked walks and with Pash in the zone in her two turns at bat, both three basers, it helped to bring home seven runs with Handorf making two outs at first and Eliza Lovelock taking a catch at left field. Strath needed to defend their lead and were under pressure with Hahndorf’s previous innings a good one. Norris made an out at first, Pash took a great catch in centre field and a K2 to Norris and Martin ended the innings and the game holding Hahndorf three up three down.

Final scores for the game were Strathalbyn 11 to Hahndorf 5.
