Goolwa’s award winning South Australian Boat Festival is taking a break but the town’s love and passion for wooden boats never does.
While there is no official wooden boat event this year, Alexandrina Council is preparing for Goolwa’s exciting new Goolwa Wharf Precinct upgrade and on the weekend of the 17 and 18 April is expecting a hive of activity along the precinct.
The entire community is invited to join in a Parade of Sail, so head down and enjoy the grace and beauty of some of South Australia’s most loved wooden boats, including the PS Oscar W and the PS Marion.
The Parade of Sail will take place from noon on Sunday 18 April at the Goolwa Wharf, but the precinct can be enjoyed all weekend, with the Armfield Slip also open and welcoming visitors.
It’s shaping up to be the perfect weekend to get together with friends and family, so pack a picnic or support local businesses and enjoy a drink or two, some live music and what may be the last of some lovely weather.
Don’t forget your camera and sun protection.
