A seminar on how to keep children and younger teens calm and connected will be held at the Victor Harbor Primary School on Tuesday 7 June.

Award winning clinical psychologist Kirrilie Smout will lead the seminar which runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

It is designed to help parents and caregivers of primary aged and early middle school young people know how to support them to develop positive friendships.

This includes managing the peer difficulties that can arise in this age and stage of development. 

Kirrilie will offer information and practical strategies on how to coach children and young people to kindly and assertively manage friendships.

She will also discuss when and how to intervene in more serious or ongoing conflict and exclusion situations.

This free seminar is supported by Fleurieu Families and provides parents and caregivers with information and practical strategies.
