Paul Nunnari to Headline Inclusive Tourism Forum

Victor Harbor is set to host a landmark event in inclusive tourism with Paralympian and accessibility trailblazer Paul Nunnari headlining the 2nd Fleurieu Forum on August 27th at the Victor Harbor Conference Centre. The forum, organized by Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism, aims to foster an inclusive and sustainable tourism industry in the region.


Paul Nunnari, known for his significant contributions to accessibility and inclusion, has a storied career that includes making iconic sites like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Mt Kosciuszko summit accessible. His influence extends to major events such as the Sydney Invictus Games, Tamworth Country Music Festival, and FIFA Women’s World Cup, showcasing his commitment to universal design and inclusive tourism.


“Paul Nunnari is a leader in universal design and inclusive tourism,” says Merrin Ozols, Regional Tourism Manager at Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism. “We are thrilled to have him share his expertise at this year’s forum to inspire our local businesses.”


The Fleurieu Forum, themed “Collectively We Thrive,” will provide valuable insights for local tourism businesses. The agenda includes discussions on agritourism development, inclusive tourism, developing authentic Indigenous tourism products, and sustainability. Attendees will also benefit from the expertise of Tourism Australia’s GM Industry, Dominic Mehling, and the CEO of the South Australian Tourism Commission, Emma Terry.


The forum promises to be a pivotal event for the Fleurieu Peninsula, a region that contributes $837 million in visitor expenditure and supports over 5,000 jobs. Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to sustainably growing the region's visitor economy through collaboration with local businesses, councils, and stakeholders.
