The Fleurieu’s iconic She Is Seen Festival is just around the corner and, for the first time, it will be a multi-day celebration across two south coast towns.
Goolwa and Port Elliot will play host to the festival on November 24 and 25.
More than 150 people are booked to take part in the two-day event that will feature a She Is Seen huge group photoshoot as well as an incredible line-up of musicians, comedy, connection to community and Country, relaxation, women’s circles and immersive art experiences.
The festival will also see some of the results of a collaboration between She Is Seen and Mi:minar Tumbetun, a program for First Nations Women supported by Indigenous Business Australia.
Kyla & Jade McHughes, along with She Is Seen founder Libby Tozer, are thrilled with the outcomes from the program so far.
The festival will feature its new singing group Yarluwar Mi:wi Mi:minar - Ocean Spirit Women, who will perform and support workshops.
Other artists in the festival line-up include Tilly Tjala Thomas, Loren Kate, Nancy Bates, Katie Aspel, Libby Trainor Parker, Crystal Angwin, Hey Harriett, Naomi Keyte, Liz Lane, Kate Gardner and Bliss Dance Willunga.
“This year’s festival will have something for everyone,” Libby Tozer says.
“Whether you are participating in the huge group photo shoot or not, this is about you, connection, feeling at home in your body and on Country in the skin you’re in.”
She Is Seen has recently become a not-for-profit organisation, and Libby hopes this means the movement will be able to expand as more people will be able to get involved.
This year’s festival has been made possible through grants from the state government, See It Live and Alexandrina Council.
Tickets are on sale via the She Is Seen website, with details of times and venues released privately to ticket holders.
