Personal branding for women in businessThirty women from throughout McLaren Vale and the Southern Suburbs attended the latest Women in Business Regional Network lunch at Angoves.

Building a personal and business brand was the theme for the latest Women in Business Regional Network lunch at Angoves McLaren Vale.

Guest speaker Wendy Perry has built up her personal brand as well as national and international businesses Switch Start Scale and Workforce Blueprint.

The session was interactive, with the 30-strong audience encouraged to think about their brand, including colours, words and images that might be appropriate.

Wendy explained how to use platforms such as LinkedIn, blogging and networking to help lift personal profile.

She encourages everyone to prepare a biography, resume and capability statement for themselves that could be used when applying for grants, for media exposure or to appeal to potential clients.

She says they should also prepare a list of topics they could potentially speak about, as another way to build profile.

This was the final network function at Angoves due to the winery’s proposed renovations and change of direction.

As well as the usual door prize of a bottle of local wine, Trish White from Port Willunga Fine Foods provided a number of gift packs as part of the draw.

The next McLaren Vale function will be a dinner on 5 July at the Meeting Place, when Paula Dickson from Lined Up Ducks will speak about how to write compelling grant applications.

The next lunch for the chapter will be at Smiling Samoyed Brewery at Myponga, when Vasso Fessas will speak about the power of staying aligned to your business values.

The Women in Business Regional Network is open to business owners, managers, staff and those dreaming of owning their own business.  You don’t have to be a member to attend events, but bookings are essential via Eventbrite
