Pizzateca in McLaren Vale is a champion of authentic Italian fare that’s loved by foodies and families. Run by the Mitolo family there are no compromises in anything they do, and that goes for its summer pop up pizzeria at Silver Sands.
Situated right next to the Norman Road beach access, the converted shipping container offers seating and vistas of a sapphire sea, white sand and distant ochre cliffs.
Here, your pizza will be made with the same ingredients that have made Pizzateca so popular; ingredients picked fresh from the garden or sourced locally, with every clove of garlic peeled by hand and every juicy tomato cooked and crushed in the kitchen.
“It’s all hands, no cans,” says Tony Mitolo, the charismatic personality behind the well-known brand.
And believe it or not, the pop up pizzeria has its own wood fired oven that is cranked up to 450 degrees so your pizza is cooked in 90 seconds, which puts a different spin on the term ‘fast food’. What more could you want after a swim or paddle? A slushy maybe? Well Pizzateca Beach has that covered too.
Open Wednesdays to Sundays from 4pm 'til sunset, spoil yourself this summer with authentic Italian pizzas with heart in every bite. Pizzateca Beach runs until 27 January.
