Kangaroo Island Council has started work this week on a revamp of the playground at The Lions Park in Kingscote.

The existing playground equipment is being removed and new playground equipment will be installed, featuring a multi-play unit, and a two-seat bronco rider swing.

A small section of the playground will be unavailable to the public until 6 May.

Barrier fencing will be in place during construction, but the community will have access to the majority of the area inside the playground during this construction period.

The council says there will be no impact on ANZAC Day activities scheduled for Bernie Davies Memorial Park on 25 April.
