Kangaroo Island beachgoers can find out all about Hooded Plovers at a free workshop in Penneshaw on Sunday 26 October.
Discover how they raise their chicks, the threats they face and how to get involved in helping to protect them.
There is only a 2.5% chance that a Hooded Plover egg will survive to adulthood with human help, according to Birdlife Australia.
The workshop will be held in the CWA building from 12pm to 3.30pm and includes lunch and a visit to Penneshaw Main Beach to observe the local Plovers in their habitat.
All are welcome; RSVP by Friday 17 October to Birdlife Australia.
