Podcast call out for regional stories

Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island residents with a story to share are being asked to put their hands up to have a chat with the Regional 250.

The Regional 250 is a podcast series of conversations with people in regional areas, recorded over the telephone.

They're looking for 250 people to share a story about themselves, their family, their town or their region in a relaxed, conversational style to share with a national audience.

Each episode is hosted by Neil Butler and starts with a snapshot of the guest's town or region before settling in to hear their story.

Episodes last around 20 - 25 minutes and will be released once or twice per week through all of the major podcast stores.

The aim is to take listeners to parts of Australia they've never visited - in some cases, to parts of Australia they have never even heard of.

Almost 10 million Australians live outside of the major metropolitan cities and suburbs so there is enormous scope for regional stories.

To ensure they cover as much of Australia as possible, the producers want one story per Local Government Area (LGA) across the country.

That means that they will cover 250 rural cities, towns, boroughs and shires from coast to coast.

They would like to hear from people living in Alexandrina, City of Victor Harbor, District Council of Yankalilla and Kangaroo Island with a story to tell.

Register to take part via the Regional 250 website

The Regional 250 is available through the major podcast stores and on The Regional 250's podcast page.
