Wanted parolee Luke Brandon and a woman were arrested in Goolwa today (Tuesday 29 October) following a series of crimes including a robbery at Parkside yesterday, a police pursuit and other alleged offending in Goolwa earlier today.

On Monday 28 October, a white Hyundai sedan was stolen from a home at Parkside after a man allegedly entered an elderly woman's home and took the car keys. The male suspect was in the company of a woman, who allegedly pushed the victim out of the way, before they drove off in her white Hyundai Elantra.

Then just after 1.30am on Tuesday 29 October, the same Hyundai sedan containing two people stole fuel from a Murray Bridge service station on Adelaide Road.

Around 4.30am, a police patrol spotted the car heading towards Meadows south of Adelaide on Bull Creek Road.

The white Hyundai Elantra was pursued through Currency Creek to the Goolwa township and was travelling towards Middleton when it stopped on the Port Elliot Road.

A police patrol stopped behind the stolen car, when the driver of the white sedan suddenly reversed, ramming the front of police car before accelerating away.

The stolen white Hyundai sedan from Parkside yesterday was located at 7am this morning (29 October) abandoned at house on Rankine Road at Goolwa South.

Shortly after, a Goolwa motorist reported their 1997 gold Mitsubishi Verada sedan had been stolen by a man from Cadell Street at Goolwa.

Police patrols saturated the Goolwa area searching for the couple in the stolen gold Mitsubishi, while the police helicopter (PolAir) was also called to the area to assist in the search.

Just before 11am the stolen car was spotted by PolAir and followed through various Goolwa backstreets while patrols cars with road spikes set up cordons in the area.

A short time later the couple in the stolen car entered a Goolwa shopping centre on Beach Road, with the woman allegedly attempting to steal another vehicle.

Police patrols quickly moved in and confronted the wanted couple and after a short struggle they were restrained and arrested.

The 33-year-old man is expected to be charged with numerous offences including aggravated robbery and aggravated serious criminal trespass at Parkside yesterday, illegal use, driving to evade police and acts to endanger life following a police pursuit at Goolwa overnight plus illegal use and aggravated serious criminal trespass from alleged offences committed at Goolwa this morning (29 October).

Also arrested, a 43-year-old woman from Elizabeth South is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated serious criminal trespass at Parkside, two counts of illegal use, plus aggravated serious criminal trespass after the couple allegedly broke into a Goolwa house this morning.

Both will be refused police bail and are expected to appear in court tomorrow (Wednesday 30 October).
