Police are investigating an attempted arson attack at Seaford Meadows this morning.

About 5.55am on Thursday 5 January, police and MFS crews were called to a house on Coast Guard Road after reports the occupants had disturbed an unknown man attempting to throw a Molotov cocktail at the property.

A front window had been damaged by a brick possibly thrown by the suspect moments before the victims saw him.

The Molotov cocktail was dropped in the front yard and the man left the scene. No one at the house was injured.

Police believe the incident was not a random attack.

The suspects fled in a stolen BMW sedan, which was later found nearby in Church Hill Road, Old Noarlunga where it had been set alight.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze which caused extensive damage to the car.
