Fatal crash at Parawa
A toddler has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a crash at Parawa on the weekend.
Police and paramedics rushed to a property on Range Road at Parawa about 1.45pm on Saturday 5 October after reports a child had been struck by a car.
The two-year-old girl sustained serious injuries when she was run over in the driveway by a four-wheel drive driven by a family member.
The toddler was airlifted to the Women's and Children's Hospital in a critical condition and sadly was later pronounced dead.
The driver, a 55-year-old man, was not physically injured in the crash.
Major Crash investigators attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
The little girl's death takes the state's road toll to 85, which is 30 more than at the same time last year.
Dirt bike rider crashes on walking trail
A motorbike rider will likely face charges after crashing his dirt bike on the Coast to Vines walking trail.
Police and paramedics responded after an off-road motorcycle crashed into a fence at Morphett Vale about 2pm on Friday 4 October.
The rider, a 37-year-old Morphett Vale man, was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing, but the rider is likely to face charges in respect to his driving and the crash. The bike was impounded for 28 days.
The Coast to Vines trail track is not for motorcycles, the track is for pedestrians and bikes only.
Police encourage any residents concerned by hoon driving/riding in their area to report any incidents at the time to police on 131 444.
Weekly traffic report
Just before 8.30pm on Tuesday 1 October, police stopped a car on Berry Smith Drive at Strathalbyn and drug tested the driver. A 45-year-old woman from Strathalbyn allegedly returned a positive result to cannabis. She may face drug driving charges pending results of a forensic analysis.
Around 2pm on Wednesday, police stopped a 33-year-old man from Meadows on Bull Creek Road, Ashbourne for a roadside drug test. He allegedly returned a positive result to cannabis. He was issued with a 24 hour driver direction not to drive and may face drug driving charges pending results of a forensic analysis.
Police stopped a car on Main South Road at Yankalilla about 7.45am on Thursday 3 October after the driver was spotted doing a burn out in front of the local service station.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Yankalilla, was reported over the incident and his vehicle was impounded.
