Man charged with child sex offences
Detectives from Victor Harbor Police arrested a 43-year-old man from the southern suburbs on Wednesday 22 January and charged him with six counts of child sex offences.
He has been bailed to appear in the Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 2 March.
Man arrested at Seaford Heights building site
A man has been arrested after being spotted inside a construction site at Seaford Heights.
Just after 3.30am on Wednesday 22 January, police were alerted to alarm activations at a construction site off of Cotterell Road. CCTV showed an intruder inside the fenced off compound loitering around offices and machinery.
Patrols responded within minutes and upon their arrival, disturbed a man still within the premises. The man immediately jumped the fence and ran off when he spotted police but was quickly arrested nearby.
A 32-year-old man from Aldinga Beach was arrested and charged with being unlawfully on premises. He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 27 February.
Incident Update for Ravine Fire on Kangaroo Island
There are 95 firefighting personnel and 30 vehicles working on the fire ground today, Monday January 27.
Fire crews are continuing work on blacking out and mopping up as there are still hot spots and burning logs.
Over the coming days there may be some flareups however with the more favourable weather crews will be able to address these quickly.
Ground crews are working to assess and rectify damage to roads and infrastructure. This process is arduous and ongoing. The main arterial roads of Playford Highway, West End Highway and South Coast Rd are open. There is a potential of injury from falling trees in other areas. Local Government, SA Police and other agencies have prioritised opening roads as soon as it safe to do so. For the latest road access information please visit the Traffic SA website.

There is no public access to Flinders Chase National Park and Kelly Hill Caves until further notice. The extent of damage to park infrastructure is still to be properly assessed and it is unsafe for the any members of the public to be in these areas.

CFS continues to move firefighting resources to and from the island. There will continue to be significant fire appliances and support vehicles through out the fire ground and at the staging area.
SA Power Networks are continuing work on repairing lines to restore power.
Moisture can cause electrical insulators, damaged by the fire, to crack and so power outages may occur as these are identified and fixed.
