KI home break-in


Police are investigating a break in at a Kangaroo Island home earlier this month and need help to identify a man captured on CCTV footage at the scene.


Sometime between 6pm Tuesday 30 June and 7.30am Wednesday 1 July, a home and shed on Hog Bay Road at Penneshaw were broken in to. A number of items including a generator, antique wooden telephone, and small red phone box were stolen from inside.


The man pictured was seen on CCTV footage at the property and police need assistance to identify him.

Traffic Report


Police stopped a 44-year-old man from Hindmarsh Island on Lewis Street Goolwa about 1.25am on Wednesday 9 July. The man was breath tested and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.078. He was issued an on the spot fine for drink driving and given a driver direction not to drive for 6 hours.


At 11am on Friday 3 July, patrols stopped a car on Adelaide Road at McCracken. Checks revealed the driver was disqualified from driving. The 29-year-old man from McCracken was arrested and charged with driving disqualified. He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.


Renewed appeal for wanted man Susen Sharma


Police are renewing their appeal for assistance from the public to help locate wanted man Susen Sharma.

Susen Sharma, 29, is wanted for breaching his intensive bail supervision order after cutting off his monitoring bracelet and has an active warrant for his arrest.  He has not been seen since February.


He is 180cm tall with a solid build, black hair and last known to have a goatee beard.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Susen Sharma is urged to contact the police assistance line on 131 444.
