A pedestrian sustained injuries after being struck by a car at Morphett Vale last night.

The collision occurred in Stanley Street, Morphett Vale about 6.20pm on Tuesday 16 December.

The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Holden station wagon was located a short distance away and towed for forensic examination.

Inquiries are continuing to locate the driver, who is believed to be known to the injured man.

Police wish to reassure the community that this does not appear to be a random incident.
