Port Noarlunga looking good in the Southern Football League Women's competition

Port Noarlunga defeated Cove by 11 points to consolidate their position in the top-four during round six action in the Southern Football League Women’s ‘A’ grade competition yesterday. Cove led by five points at quarter time, before Port Noarlunga kicked three goals in the second term to lead by 16 points at halftime. The Cobras battled hard in the second half but ‘Porties’ were too strong as they ran out winners 4.6 (30) to 3.1 (19). Bree Chapman continued her good season to be named best for Port Noarlunga and she was well supported by Madison Harris, Sam Lynch, Belinda Gale and Ella Slape. Cove were best served by Lauren Kenny, Mikala Graham, Dana O’Brien, Ashleigh Need and Lauren Pattimore. 


Reynella continued their unbeaten start to the 2022 season with a convincing 132-point win over Aldinga at Reynella on Saturday night. The Wine Flies led by 38 points at quarter time, 77 points at halftime and 103 points at the last change before winning 19.18 (132) to 0.0 (0). Grace Doran (4), Kristy Jenkinson (3) and Georgia Scholes (3) were the leading goalkickers for Reynella, while their best players were Anja Bancevic, Casie Coombe, Caitlin Walter, Morgan Blackwell and Doran. Best players for Aldinga included India Hamdorf, Kimberly Robinson and Kiara Lovett. 


Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill won their fourth game of the season to stay in second spot on the ladder after defeating Christies Beach by 71 points at Bice Oval yesterday. ‘Flaggies’ led by just seven points at quarter time, before kicking nine goals to zero in the final three quarters to win 11.13 (79) to 1.2 (8). Nicole O’Connor (3), Ebony Scanlan (3) and Sienna Chapman (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Falcons, while Cadence Bryowsky kicked the Saints’ only major. Flagstaff Hill had many good players including Brooke Kleinig, Shaylee Dayman, Alana Baker, Scanlan and Emma Hodgson. Best for ‘Christies’ were Tayla Cook, Cassandra Quigley, Rachael Farlam, Maddison Wilson-Niessen and Neriah Milis.
