Port Noarlunga are through to next week’s second semi-final after defeating Flagstaff Hill by 57 points in the Southern Football League (SFL) Qualifying Final at Flagstaff Hill yesterday. ‘Porties’ started strongly to lead by 20 points at halftime, before kicking seven goals to one in the second half to win 14.10 (94) to 5.7 (37). Zac Sproule was the standout forward on the ground with six goals (64 for the season) for Port Noarlunga, while Blake Aldridge kicked two goals for ‘Flaggies’. Best players for the Cockle Divers included Brodie Smith, Sproule, Daniel Flavel, Charley Wiseman, Richard O'Grady and Nathaniel Paredes. Meanwhile, best players for the Falcons included Nathan Beenham, Brayden Heyward-Ferors, Mitchell Johnson, Brad Kirk, David Kearsley and Aiden Grayson.
Christies Beach are through to week two of the finals after an upset three-point win against reigning premiers Reynella at Morphett Vale today. The game was tight throughout as ‘Christies’ prevailed 8.11 (59) to 7.14 (56). Harrison Butcher kicked three goals for the Saints, while Dylan Roser and Callan Semple kicked two goals each for the Wine Flies. Best players for Christies Beach included Thomas Kirwan, Michael Mazey, Aidan Coakley, Shannon Archbold, Butcher and Nathan Sable. Reynella was served best by Roser, Talon Copley, Daniel Whitaker, Brody Dayman, Lachlan McGuinness and James Papworth.
