Port Noarlunga won their first Southern Football League (SFL) ‘A’ grade premiership since 1997, after a thrilling two-point win over minor premier Happy Valley at Magain Stadium yesterday. The game was tight throughout with no more than two points separating the teams at the breaks, as Happy Valley turned for home with a one-point lead. The final quarter was a tense affair with both sides kicking two goals before ‘Porties’ triumphed 7.6 (48) to 7.4 (46). Zac Sproule kicked three goals for the Cockle Divers, while Darnell Tucker kicked two goals for the Vikings. Sproule completed an excellent season to be named best for ‘Porties’, and he was well supported by Billy Cook, Nathaniel Paredes, Rhys Mckay, Charley Wiseman and Nick Steele. Best for the Vikings included Nick Kraemer, Harry Spacie, Cooper Rogers, Jack Flett, Joel Beeche and Tucker.



In the other grades, Happy Valley won the ‘B’ grade premiership after a 15-point win over Reynella, Reynella had success with a thrilling four-point victory over Flagstaff Hill in the under 17.5 Boys, Port Noarlunga won the under 15 Boys flag with a 22-point victory against Reynella, while Flagstaff Hill had a convincing 55-point victory against Reynella in the under 13 Boys decider.
