Port Noarlunga kept the pressure on the top two teams with a comfortable 95-point win against Hackham during round nine action in the Southern Football League Women’s ‘A’ grade competition on Sunday. The Cockle Divers led by 28 points at quarter time, 57 points at halftime and 80 points at the last change, before winning 13.17 (95) to 0.0 (0). Teegan Mesecke kicked three goals in a best-on-ground performance for 'Porties', while Abby Dittmar, Belinda Gale and Deanna Ortuso kicked two goals each. Other good players for Port Noarlunga included Jolie Malinowski, Gale, Nikki Parker, Tyla Pyman and Brittany Pratt. Best players for Hackham included Sarah Noble, Ashleigh Dayman and Caitlin Haire.
Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill maintained second spot on the ladder with a 49-point win at Aldinga. The Falcons could’ve won by more but kicked an inaccurate 6.14 (50) to Aldinga 0.1 (1). Elouisa Thomas, Tamsyn Morriss, Alana Baker, Brooke Kleinig, Jasmin Partridge and Amelia Morriss were named as ‘Flaggies’ best players, while Tamsyn Morriss kicked two goals. Aldinga were best served by Kimberly Robinson, Eilish O’Hanlon, Charlotte Bayford, Amber O’Hanlon and Charlee Evans.
Reynella consolidated top spot with their eighth win of the season, this time by 91 points against Cove. The Wine Flies got off to a fast start with five first-quarter goals before going on to win 13.14 (92) to 0.1 (1). Emily Franklin (4), Shanique West (3) and Caitlin Williams (2) were the leading goalkickers for Reynella, while their best players were Zannah Loxton, Anja Bancevic, Williams, Franklin and Morgan Blackwell. Best for the Cobras included Ella Gill, Kate Galley and Dana O’Brien.
