Reigning premier Port Noarlunga maintained top spot on the ladder after a comprehensive 100-point win against Aldinga during round 13 action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Port Noarlunga yesterday. The win was set up by a dominant first quarter from ‘Porties’, as they led by 49 points at the first change. A further seven goals to zero after quarter time saw Port Noarlunga win 15.11 (101) to 0.1 (1). Schanna L’Estrange kicked five goals for the Cockle Divers, while Abby Dittmar slotted four majors. Best players for ‘Porties’ included Zoe Flesfadar, Nasyah Turner, Dittmar, L'Estrange, Lucinda Bunge and Amelia Hardy. Best for Aldinga were Daisy Barber, Zoe De Kievit, Taryn Vizgaudis, Charlize Goad, Molly Reynolds and Kimberly Thomson.
Cove kept their minor premiership hopes alive with a comfortable 109-point win against Christies Beach. The Cobras led by 42 points at halftime, before kicking a further 10 unanswered goals in the second half to win 15.19 (109) to 0.0 (0). Eve Disley led the way for Cove with six goals, while their best players were Jaime Norup, Disley, Ella Gill, Emily Hocking, Dana O'Brien and Hayley Donnell. Best for the Saints included Tara Vivar-Hayes, Chloe Brooks, Lauren Chomel, Bella Wheatley, Madison Marsh and Hayley Haire.
Flagstaff Hill won their 10th game of the season after defeating Ironbank Cherry Gardens by 52 points at Cherry Gardens yesterday. The Falcons won every quarter on their way to the 9.11 (65) to 2.1 (13) victory. Gabriella Baker (3), Jessica Couch (3) and Brooke May (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Falcons, while Thunderers skipper Olivia Walker-Obushak kicked two majors. Best players for ‘Flaggies’ included May, Tiana Lush, Baker, Ebony Scanlan, Sienna Chapman and Lara Sarre. Ironbank Cherry Gardens were best served by Jesse Smith, Lauren Kahl, Walker-Obushak, Tahlia Ward, Jessie O’Brien and Katherine Davey.
Blackwood received a forfeit win from Hackham.
