Port Noarlunga stayed on top of the ladder after defeating Cove by 32 points during round five action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Hallett Cove on Sunday. ‘Porties’ won every quarter on their way to an 8.5 (53) to 3.3 (21) victory. Kalahni Howes and Teegan Mesecke kicked three goals each for Port Noarlunga, while Iona Parr kicked two goals for the Cobras. Best players for the Cockle Divers included Zoe Flesfadar, Mesecke, Isabella Seed, Amber O’Hanlon, Philippa Worthley and Kalahni Bissi, while the Cobras were best served by Naomi Jones, Dana O'Brien, Parr, Jemima Buss, Rebecca O’Shaughnessy and Angelique Dean.
Reigning premier Reynella are still undefeated after a 61-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens on Sunday. The Wine Flies victory was set up by a six-goal second quarter as they went on to win 8.14 (62) to 0.1 (1). Taya Maxwell kicked three goals for Reynella, while their best players were Shanique West, Zannah Loxton, Charlotte Watson, Summer Weir, Maxwell and Tayla Wright. Best for Ironbank Cherry Gardens included Olivia Walker-Obushak, Tahlia Ward and Cassandra Wilson.
Flagstaff Hill won their third game of the season with a comfortable 79-point win against Hackham. The Falcons led by 31 points at halftime, before kicking seven unanswered goals in the second half to win 10.20 (80) to 0.1 (1). Tiana Lush kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for ‘Flaggies’, while Jessica Couch slotted three majors. Other good players for Flagstaff Hill included Chloe Meyers, Brooke Watson, Emma Hodgson and Mogg. Best for Hackham were Claire Wheeler, Maddison Hay, Shayley MacFadyen, Charlotte Carter, Imogen Dwyer and Laney Moore.
