The City of Victor Harbor has announced a milestone in delivering its proposed Community, Sport and Recreation Precinct.

The council says it received strong interest from the private sector through its Expression of Interest process, which closed 16 November.

From this process it has identified a potential partnership opportunity to develop what it describes as a “region-shaping piece of community infrastructure”.

Commercial-in-confidence negotiations will now take place to progress commercial terms for the project.

The council expects to provide an update in April 2024 on its, “top priority major project”.

Located on Armstrong Road, behind the Victor Harbor TAFE, the Precinct aims to provide a multi-purpose indoor facility.

The concept design includes four multi-purpose courts, a regional gymnastics facility, flexible multi-purpose community space, café with kitchen, function area, administration and storage areas.

There is also a plaza area, car parking and outdoor community recreation spaces.
