Two members of the Encounter Bay Family History Group have been honoured for their contribution to genealogical research.
Dedicated family history researchers Elaine and Frank Hall received a special recognition award, the Premier's Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service, from the South Australian Genealogy & Heraldry Society.
The Victor Harbor couple has been active members of the society for more than 37 years.
Their contribution includes extensive indexing of records, regularly travelling to Adelaide to help make family history more accessible to those who want to find out more about their ancestors.
They have also written seven family histories and have made a particular contribution in indexing records from the Burra district and from SA Government Gazettes.
Elaine and Frank are active and highly valued member of the Encounter Bay Family History Group, which helps locals across the south coast with genealogical research at the Victor Harbor Library.
To use the service, on Monday afternoons, between 1pm and 3pm, book at the library desk in person or by phone on 8551 0730.
