Aldinga library will host a fun and interactive event to learn how to pickle vegetables and make sauerkraut from scratch on Saturday 6 April.

The free workshop will demonstrate how to make the most of homegrown veg and learn how to safely process them for long term storage and improved gut health.

Health and food educator Beck Stevens will share her wealth of knowledge and explain two different methods for dealing with excess produce.

There will also be the chance to taste some pre-prepared examples.

Beck is a horticulturalist and agricultural scientist and a founding member and co-ordinator of Happy Patch Community Garden and The Happy Pantry Community Food Co-operative.

She has a passion for building strong, resilient, and sustainable communities that are linked with their food sources.

The workshop will run from 10.30am to 12 noon; reserve a spot via Eventbrite.
