The City of Onkaparinga is seeking community feedback on a proposal to rezone 235 hectares of land at Hackham and Old Noarlunga.
The rezoning would allow up to 2000 new homes and a retail centre to be built.
The parcel of land runs along Main South Road, opposite the end of the Southern Expressway. Most of the land is in Hackham, with a small portion in Old Noarlunga.
Details, maps and a concept plan can be viewed on the yoursay.onkparinga.sa.gov.au website.
The Chief Executive of the Attorney General’s Department is undertaking a Code Amendment to rezone the land.
The Onkaparinga Your Say site says the rezoning would address an immediate need for further land supply and population growth in the south of Adelaide, which in turn will facilitate the contribution to housing affordability and quality of life for South Australians.
Submissions on the proposal must be received by 5.00 pm 26 July 2022
