The Victor Harbor foreshore is at risk of coastal erosion and flooding from projected sea level rise and increasing storm frequency, according to advice to the council.
In response, City of Victor Harbor is working with a range of experts to explore technically effective ways to manage the coastline from the Hindmarsh to Inman River.
It has drafted an outline of preliminary options and is now seeking community feedback before developing a Coastal Adaptation Master Plan.
The Master Plan area has been divided into five sites with preliminary coastal adaptation options identified for each area. They are:
There are three categories of options for each site: do nothing; hold the line; or transform.
The draft plan discusses the potential impacts, costs and benefits of all these options.

An information session will be held at the council chambers on Bay Road on Tuesday 17 March from 5.30pm to 7pm.
The deadline for feedback is 5pm on Sunday 22 March; complete a survey online.
