Quilting for comfort in the time of COVID

While practicing self-isolation, It’s a great time to learn a new skill, do something productive and connect with the community.

Over the next few weeks, the City of Onkaparinga has decided to create its very own community COVID quilt.

Quilts are a symbol of comfort, nurturing and warmth, and the council hopes this project will help residents feel connected and remain positive.

There is no cost to get involved, just register your interest via Eventbrite.

The council will send out a materials pack to spark creativity – including fabric, wool, thread, sequins and beads. BYO sewing supplies!

Once finished, mail back your completed square(s) to the council, along with your name, age and a description of what you’ve made.

The quilt will then be assembled together and displayed in a public place within the City of Onkaparinga.
