Reef Watch will lead a guided 'Reef Ramble' at the southern end of Aldinga Reef as part of SeaWeek 2021.
SeaWeek is Australia’s major national public awareness campaign to focus community awareness, provide information and encourage an appreciation of the sea.
Supported by the Conservation Council of SA, Green Adelaide and the Sustainable Onkaparinga, the reef ramble will be on Sunday 14 March from 11am to 1.30pm.
In 2021 the SeaWeek theme is the sixth Ocean Literacy principle: The ocean and humans are inextricably interconnected.
This is a great way to learn about fascinating and unique local rock pool flora and fauna.
Participants will have the opportunity to find and identify marine life on the intertidal zone.
Meet at the car park at the corner of Morgan Street and the Esplanade for a safety briefing and sign in before walking down to the reef.
Take covered toe shoes, they will get wet, camera, hat, sunscreen, a drinking water bottle and plenty of curiosity.
The ramble is suitable for ages 5 to adult (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Book via Eventbrite.
The reef surface is uneven and not accessible for strollers or wheelchairs.
