The Mayor's garden competition is back in the City of Onkaparinga for 2023, with entries opening on Tuesday 1 August.

Green thumbs of Onkaparinga are invited to get their gardens ready to show off their horticultural skills.

The competition recognises local gardeners and encourages community interest in local gardens that enhances the presentation and liveability of the region. 

Gardeners can compete in seven categories in total, which include community, school, young gardener and verge garden.

There are also three urban residential categories: edible, general and native/sustainable.

Gardens that have received a Mayors Garden Competition award twice are automatically entered into the Hall of Fame.

Full details and entry forms will be available on City of Onkaparinga website, community centres and libraries from 1 August.
