Recycled Runway transforms scraps into styleDare to Design, Strut the Sustainable Way - Join Recycled Runway!

McLaren Vale’s Recycled Runway will redefine fashion on May 25, turning op shop finds into stylish statements.

Spearheaded by the McLaren Vale Business and Tourism Association, She Sews, and the City of Onkaparinga, the inaugural Recycled Runway is a concerted effort to breathe new life into pre-loved clothing and promote sustainable fashion.

Taking centre stage - or catwalk - at Wirra Wirra winery in McLaren Vale on 25 May, the Recycled Runway aims to promote sustainable fashion by challenging designers and creative enthusiasts to transform op-shop finds into stylish and eco-friendly outfits.

Designers participating in the event will be given the task of turning second-hand clothing into stylish masterpieces. Completed clothing will be taken to the catwalk by models - who can be anyone, including friends or family of the designers - in a demonstration of sustainable fashion.

Registration is open until February 28, requiring participants to sign up and secure a bag of pre-loved clothing, which costs $25 for those who live within the Onkaparinga Council and $35 for residents outside the council area.

Megan from She Sews says, “the Recycled Runway is not just a fashion event, it's a statement advocating for a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach to the world of style.”
