Redsox batted first and had multiple safe hits which brought five runs home before Strathalbyn’s left fielder Ashlee Peterson took a catch. Redsox continued their great batting by getting batters on base and with bases loaded Amelia Rusden hit a grand slam to centre field bringing home a further four runs before Strath’s third baser Kathy Pash took a catch and first baser Brooke Moses combined with second baser Buttsy Milne for the last out at first. Strath’s first innings only had one safe hit to Pash which was a three baser and she came home off of an error to the catcher for the only run of the innings with Redsox second baser taking a catch, an out made at first and a catch taken at third by Talia Moyle ending the innings.

Strath’s fielding in Redsox second turn at bat was much better with short stop Georgia Tomkinson making two outs at first and new pitcher Pash also making an out at first to hold them scoreless. Strath needed to get some runs on the board and even though they got batters on they were unable to come home with Redsox making a K2, first baser Kylie Gray taking a catch and quickly throwing to second to catch the runner short of their ground for the third out and a double play.

The third dig for Redsox again had some safe hits and they were able to bring home a further four runs with Strath’s pitcher making an out at first, Tomkinson taking a catch at short stop and Pash combining with catcher Kim Cutting for a K2 to send them from the diamond. Strath’s third innings also couldn’t get any runners home even with a safe hit to the outfield by Cutting with Redsox just too strong in the field making an out at first and Gray quickly throwing to third to pick off the lead runner for a double play and a K2 ended the innings holding Strath scoreless again.

Strath tightened their fielding in Redsox fourth turn at bat and even though they got a batter on base they couldn’t get home with short stop Tomkinson making two outs and pitcher Pash taking a catch to end the innings and hold them scoreless. Strath found it hard going in the batting box and knew they needed to make runs but were unable to with Redsox pitcher/catcher combo of Claire Mohan-Ram to Alex Mackay making two K2’s and short stop Steph Hull fielding and making the out at first to end the innings and the game. Redsox coming out on top with a 13 to 1 win.
