Strath Neighbourhood House will host two screenings of the short documentary film Regenerating Australia on Saturday 16 July.
Award-winning filmmaker Damon Gameau has previously directed 2040 and That Sugar Film.
He has based his latest film on a four-month ‘listening campaign’ with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country’s future.
It features Kerry O’Brien, Sandra Sully, Tim Flannery, Larissa Behrendt, David Pocock and other well-known voices.
Damon Gameau has described it as a new story for our nation: “a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.
“Regenerating Australia is a hypothetical news report based on interviews with a diverse group of Australians who were asked about their hopes and dreams for the future.”
He says screenings offer a chance to connect with others face to face and feel some much needed hope and inspiration as we discuss the steps we could take together to regenerate Australia over the next eight years.
The Strath Neighbourhood House screenings will be at 2pm and 7pm. Entry is free and refreshments will be available.
