Mobile phone coverage remains frustratingly patchy across much of regional Australia, including parts of the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is conducting a Regional Mobile Infrastructure Inquiry to allow people to have a say on mobile services in regional Australia
The ACCC is seeking public contributions to the Regional Mobile Infrastructure Inquiry to inform future Government policy decisions on the provision mobile telecommunications services in regional areas.
The survey focuses on the following questions:
Public consultation closes on Friday 12 March; submissions can be made online or via email.
The inquiry closes 31 March and the ACCC intends to publish a draft report on or before 14 April. A final report is due by 30 June 2023.
The ACCC is the chief competition regulator of the Government of Australia, located within the Department of the Treasury.
