The biennial Fleurieu Festival will return in April next year and artists, writers and musicians have until the end of October to register an event or include their studio on the Festival’s Art Trail.
Chair of the event Desmond Ford says it will be, “a tonic for a horrid year,” and something for artists and the community to look forward to.
“Anyone who wants to hold an event or join the studio trail, particularly in a private space, we’ll support them with any COVID planning that needs to be done.”
Organisers are hoping to match the breadth of music, art and literary experiences of previous festivals.
The Festival will launch with a bang on Easter Saturday with a carnival to be held on Normanville's newly developed green space.
A family fun beach day will follow, held in conjunction with the Normanville Surf Life Saving Club. A competitive pontoon swim will also be part of the day.
The Festival will be held from 3 – 17 April 2021 and takes place within the Yankalilla Council (Fleurieu Coast Region).
Those wanting to join their studio to the art trail or to register an event for the biennial celebration can do so via the Festival website until the end of the October.
The event was first held 18 years ago when it was known as the Leafy Seadragon Festival and celebrates Fleurieu artists, heritage and landscapes.
