Reigning premier Port Noarlunga make a move in the SFL Women's A Grade

Reigning premier Port Noarlunga moved up to second spot on the ladder following their 39-point win over Reynella during round six action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Reynella yesterday. ‘Porties’ started the game well to lead by 32 points at halftime, before kicking four goals to three in the second half to win 10.9 (69) to 4.6 (30). Brittany Close (3), Abbie Healey (3) and Schanna L’Estrange (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Cockle Divers, while Sarah Bourn kicked two goals for Reynella. Best players for ‘Porties’ included Healey, Maddy Craggs, Zoe Flesfadar, Abby Dittmar, Eilish O’Hanlon and L'Estrange. Reynella was best served by Miller Thompson, Bourn, Mia Brennan, Scarlett Bradford, Neive Morgan and Tayla Wright.


Blackwood won their second game of the season with a 35-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens at Blackwood Oval. The Woods won every quarter on their way to a 5.8 (38) to 0.3 (3) victory. Best players for Blackwood included Sophie Parker, Lara Higgins, Caitlin Hill, Rileigh Abbott, Caitlin Harris (2 goals) and Holly Santibanez. The Thunderers best were Jessie O’Brien, Tahlia Ward, Audrey Myers, Estelle McPhee, Maeve Solley and Emma Byatt.


Aldinga won their second game on the trot after defeating Hackham by 20 points. Hackham led by six points at quarter time, before Aldinga kicked five goals to two after the first break to win 6.4 (40) to 3.2 (20). Taryn Vizgaudis kicked three goals for Aldinga, while Laney Moore kicked two majors for the Hawks. Molly Reynolds, Anastacia Barton, Madison Brown, Vizgaudis, Aleisha Hawke and India Roberts were named best players for the Sharks, while best for Hackham included Ashton Gaskell, Chelsea Parsons, Shannon Gaskell, Caitlin Curyer, Natasha Robertson and Rikki-Lee Escritt.


Cove, Christies Beach and Flagstaff Hill had the bye.
