Reigning premier Willunga through to the decider in Great Southern Women's Football

Reigning premiers Willunga are through to another grand final after a comprehensive 72-point win over McLaren Districts at Encounter Bay in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition yesterday. The Demons led by 16 points at quarter time, 20 points at halftime, and 36 points at the last change, before winning 9.18 (72) to 0.0 (0). Sarah Wright kicked three goals for Willunga, while Lauren Clifton kicked two. Best players for the Demons included Clifton, Ada Anninos, Abby Woodward, Kirstin Remfrey and Wright. McLaren Districts were best served by Sam Pratt, Ally Bailey, Katrina Munzberg, Kiera Harvey and Emily Rowe.


Yankalilla/Encounter Bay are through to the preliminary final after a thrilling six-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot in the knockout semi-final yesterday. The Stingrays, in their first season in the competition, came from two points down at halftime to win 4.2 (26) to 2.8 (20). Jaimi Griffen continued her excellent season for the Stingrays with a best-on-ground performance. She was well supported by Georgia Weatherspoon, Chloe Howlett, Elena Earl and Kate Sanders. Best players for the Magpies included Indi Miller, Kalani Bates, Renee Moon, Tessa Grant and Tamra Sanders.
