Reigning premier Wisanger wrapped up second spot on the ladder after defeating Kingscote by 60 points during round 13 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Wisanger started well to lead by 29 points at quarter time, before Kingscote hit back with three goals to two in the second term to reduce the margin to 23 points at the long break. Wisanger put the foot down in the second half, kicking nine goals to two, to win 16.12 (108) to 6.12 (48). Jackson Lockett (4), Sam Clifford (3), Khyal Stead (3) and Luke Shurven (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Panthers. Riley Mattner and Peter Rolfe kicked two goals each for Kingscote. Best players for Wisanger included Luke Stewart, Liam Sampson, Brok Viney-Obst, Dusty Cross and Jai Turner. Jack Grimes, Paul Green, Jordan Connell, Zak Siemer and Riley Mattner were named best players for Kingscote.
Western Districts continued their excellent season with a 55-point win over Parndana, their 10th victory of the season. The Saints led by seven points at quarter time, 21 points at halftime, and 37 points at the last change, before winning 8.12 (60) to 0.5 (5). Brad Crabb (3) and Joel Cross (2) were the multiple goalkickers for Western Districts. The Saints’ best players were Tate Barrett, Crabb, Tim Larcombe, Zach Goodwin and Caleb Whittle. Best for the Roosters were Patrick Skeer, Jaan Kuchel, Zach Trethewey, Mark Bowden and Brady Hill.
