Reigning premiers SCIB through to the decider in Hills Cricket

Reigning premier Scott Creek Ironbank (SCIB) are through to the Hills Cricket Association (HCA) Grand Final after a six-wicket win over minor premier Mt Lofty at Heathfield yesterday. It was a sixth consecutive win for SCIB, while the Redcaps disappointingly exit the finals in ‘straight sets’. Mt Lofty batted first and they made a disastrous start as they slumped to 5/18 in the 17th over. Tim Noble (28) and Adam Carthew (23) added 56 runs for the sixth wicket, before another collapse of 5/7 saw the home side bowled out for just 81. Five SCIB bowlers took wickets with Daniel Desengo leading the way with 3/13 from nine overs, while there were three run-outs. Scott Creek Ironbank lost two early wickets to sit precariously at 2/11, before Desengo (22) and Aaron Thompson (45 not out) saw their side over the line in the 39th over. Will Healey (2/17) was the multiple wicket taker for the Redcaps. Scott Creek Ironbank will now take on Stirling in the decider at Stirling Oval next Saturday.

In the A2 grade, Uraidla won their second premiership in a row with a thrilling one-wicket win over Scott Creek Ironbank, while Stirling won the A3 flag, also by one-wicket, over Onkaparinga.
