Residents of Resthaven Chiton Retirement Living have had their first glimpse of an exciting new development that promises to enhance their community with modern amenities and eco-friendly design. The forthcoming expansion, valued at $7.8 million, will introduce 11 new two-bedroom-plus-study units, in addition to a garden reserve and a dedicated parking area for caravans.
The village currently hosts 29 homes, and the new units will seamlessly blend into the existing landscape while offering a host of updated features. Each unit will be equipped with high-quality white goods, rainwater tanks, and garages. Four of the units will include double garages, and all will incorporate energy-saving design elements, contributing to the site’s impressive seven-star energy rating.
“We’ve listened to our community and planned this development to meet the modern needs of retirement living,” says Darren Birbeck, CEO of Resthaven.
In keeping with the village’s green ethos, the new landscaping will feature carefully selected plantings that enhance the environmental sustainability of the community. Future residents will also enjoy access to the community Lakehouse, which offers a resident-run bar area, a fully-equipped kitchen, a library, a hall, a gym, and comfortable lounge areas. The Lakehouse’s deck provides stunning views of the local wetland, teeming with birdlife.
The project is currently in the tender phase, builders have been invited to bid for the work, expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024. Prospective residents can view designs and floor plans upon request.
