SA Water will start the final upgrade works on the Myponga Reservoir dam spillway gates next Monday 29 September.

Reservoir Road will be temporarily closed between Forktree Road and the Myponga Reservoir Lookout for around three weeks to safely accommodate the heavy machinery required for the works.

The upgrade project involved removal and refurbishment of the gates for the first time since they were commissioned in 1962.

This final stage includes replacing bolts, painting and surveying the alignment of the three gates to ensure they continue operating reliably into the future.

The works will take place from Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5pm; no water releases are planned.

Myponga Reservoir Reserve will remain open for all land and water-based recreational activities during the works.
