The last ever Great Southern Bolt running race will be run from Myponga to Aldinga Bay this Sunday 2 March.
Myponga and surrounding areas will experience temporary traffic changes to accommodate the iconic event.
It features a spectacular downhill 12km course, starting at the Myponga Reservoir, winding through farming country and then down Main South Road to the finish line at the Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club.
Organised by Great Southern Runs, the Bolt also features a flat 5km run and a free kids’ dash on Silver Sands beach.
Temporary traffic restrictions will be in place from 6am to 10am, starting on Hansen Street, Myponga, and following Main South Road to Country Road, Sellicks Beach.
Light vehicles will be detoured via Pages Flat Road, while Heavy vehicles will be managed by traffic controllers for access to South Road.
A detailed traffic management plan, including a map of detours and closures can be viewed online.
Drivers in the area are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time and follow the directions of traffic management staff.
