Victor Harbor moved up to fourth spot on the ladder following their two-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot during round 14 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Goolwa yesterday. In a low-scoring encounter, ‘Victor’ prevailed 2.3 (15) to 1.7 (13). Danika Millard and Demi Morse were the goalkickers for the ‘Roos, while Rachel Wood kicked the only goal for the Magpies. Best players for Victor Harbor included Tyla Millard, Lucy Rubie, Morse, Olivia Nobbs, Halle Crowe and Zoe Bartholomaeus. The Magpies were best served by Cassie Burrows, Renee Moon, Ellie Fry, Annabel Cameron, Jessica Bailey and Dana Polmear.
McLaren Districts won their 11th game of the season with a comfortable 62-point victory over Myponga-Sellicks at Strathalbyn yesterday. The Eagles led by 25 points at halftime, before kicking a further six unanswered goals in the second half to win 10.4 (64) to 0.2 (2). Abby Woodward was the standout forward on the ground with five goals and she received good support from Caitlin Ross, Charlotte Watson, Josephine Hoare, Makenzie Bryowsky and Jessica Shaw. Chloe Boileau, Megan Weetra, Nari Wright, Grace Deacon, and Cristel Chambers were named best for the Mudlarks.
Willunga remained undefeated after defeating Yankalilla/Encounter Bay by 48 points at Yankalilla yesterday. Tamara Page and Sarah Wright kicked three goals each for the Demons as they won 9.10 (64) to 2.4 (16). Best players for the Demons included Bella Rigby, Caitlin Radbone, Jodie Hunt, Wright, Emma Leask and Kirstin Remfrey. The Stingrays’ best included Czenya Cavouras, Laura Niejalke, Sienna Bull, Rhiannon Gaythwaite-Cotton, Jemima Althorp and Achol Agany.
